ABOUT US

Challenger to Champion was established by Tony Glackin in order to achieve his aim of encouraging normal men and women to push themselves both physically and mentally and to immerse themselves in something fun and challenging.  His aim is to teach everyone quality, in-depth technical skills in a controlled and professional environment in order to compete competitively in a ring to the best of their abilities.

The roots of White Collar Boxing are in New York in the late 80s and the legendary Gleasons Gym where gym owner Bruce Silverglade began organizing informal fights between the white-collar workers of his clientele.  Since then it has grown into one of the biggest contact sports in the world.

White Collar Boxing is for people with minimal or no boxing experience at all who want the chance to learn and hone new skills culminating in a genuine fight scenario while raising money for a good cause.

Boxing has been a part of Tony’s life since he was 8 years old (a mere 40 years ago) and over the past 10 years he has been involved in the training of over 1,800 boxers of all abilities from novices to professionals.

Competitors will be pitted against an opponent equally matched in skill, weight and age to box three 2 minute rounds under the watchful eyes of judges, medics and a referee as well as up to 1,000 spectators. Each bout will be filmed and winners will receive a trophy.
